AT & T Inc. announced Wednesday it is expanding U-verse television service to St. Augustine. Installation company says will be available for residents in some parts of St. Augustine beginning February 15.
U-verse television service is delivered by the internet protocol network. AT & T began to hold services in 2007 and began offering it in Jacksonville in August 2008. This service is now available to more than one million homes in Florida, the company said.
I am a Time Warner customer and less happy. While TV service from the time the warning was fine, I have a 2 year battle with their horrible DVR, that I had to create their own tricks to keep it working properly, but finally after 2 years of upgrade work OK, but not great. I also have a bulletin 7mbps their services. The Internet is the biggest problem. I had technicians here and they all said it was OK, but did not, speed is all over the place and could not anything including Netflix streaming without buffering excessive. I have a feeling that TWC is stretching their services too thin in my neighborhood, and by nature with their bandwidth and that people use more than that, I think that’s causing the problem. I like the fact that I connect directly to the VRAD and that I not only use the service apart from my neighbor (as with TWC, just an ordinary splitter).

Just moved into my new house about 6 weeks ago, and has U-verse installed today after waiting too long for Comcast to do a few lines of work. I took the liberty to run cat 5e and Rg6 for every room in my house a few weeks ago in preparation for cable / ethernet, and I’m glad I did! I ran all the cables myself because I want to jack in the wall are in certain places, and Comcast can not / will not be a wall of fish (I understand the reasons he gives).
Review from new u-verse user :
Recently signed up with UVerse in Helotes (just northwest of San Antonio), Texas. I’ve been a Dish and Roadrunner customers for nearly 10 years. Never really had a problem with the service of each, but feel that this technology (IPTV) is the “wave” of the future. I already have a STB for the service called SkyAngel (Christian and family-friendly) IPTV service, so I’m familiar with the technology

I found out that U-verse is available in our area in the valley of the factory! They’ve just extended through many cities, and plans to have more northern bays available. I’ve set up orders by phone, and to be honest, it was horrible. They never came.
I went to a beautiful new store in Corte Madera in the city center though, and it was amazing. Large stores, and have all the resources one could want, and the staff were very good. They set up an install for me, and also gave me back $ 100 more to sign up with them

Both of their U-verse installed yesterday and I had met or exceeded all my expectations. Consistent 17 + Mbits / s download and 1.5 upwards. Two super-POT’s lines that are clear, and the tone of the channel! HD picture shows a bit more MPEG motion artifacts from the former Bright House service, but only slightly!

I decided to switch from Comcast which is a big decision because I have become their customer (in one form or another) for about 15 years. Frankly, our house is designed to ATT U-verse because we have fiber to the location and not have to worry about being near the VRAD. I ordered IP phone service, U200 TV package with three additional recipients, and “Max” Internet service (12Mbps).
I ordered Uverse internet only on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, the technician arrived on time and complete the installation in less than 2 hours. This includes getting 3 wireless laptops, both Mac and Windows, standing and walking. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and I knew he knew what he was doing. Internet speed test to confirm that I am getting 12 meg “Max” service that I signed up for. All in all, it is the experience exceptional customer
Go with U300 + HD for TV, Internet on-upgrade option, and telephone
We have had DirecTV for TV, Comcast for Internet, and to land ATT phone (for home office)

I get installed 9/05/09. Only and12 meg internet tv. Install went fine, the line tech came right on schedule, draw a new line into the house and installed a new nid. While the tech on the line in technology appears, has ported the line and start the installation. All total it took about 4 hours. I’ve cat4 for all locations. Everything works well and still working. Great on TV 1080i hd and yes it looks a lot better than my 720p from Comcast. The Internet is a little faster than my dsl but I am having to slow down page loading, I think DNS server problem.
