Starting today, AT&T has launched the U-Verse application for the BlackBerry Torch, a service we’ve only seen accessible to iPhone customers until now. The application essentially allows existing U-Verse customers to schedule DVR recordings from the BlackBerry Torch, and even download/watch many television shows right from their handset. The introduction of U-Verse Mobile is a continuation of AT&T’s strategy to “Mobilize Everything”, and is definitely a step forward in integrating handheld devices into other technologies we use every day.
So here’s how it works:
* All existing AT&T customers who subscribe to U-Verse for their digital cable needs are able to download and use the application to schedule DVR recordings.
* Customers that subscribe to the U-Verse U300 package or higher get access to select content to download and watch
* While the content available is currently limited to the most popular TV shows and stations, it’s expanding on a continuous basis.
* BlackBerry Torch owners/AT&T U-Verse customers can download the application in BlackBerry App World. starting today.
